Dinner Party Project-
The Dinner Party project was inspired by the artist Judy Chicago and her dinner party piece. Each student was assigned a specific region of the world and we had the whole year to research about the art in that region. The research is shown in the annotated bibliography where I discussed nine pieces of art that I thought best represented this region and the specific cultures that these pieces of art came from. Then we had to make a brochure that represented the artworks that we chose. We then had to design and create a plate and a runner based on the regions art. Our class had a dinner party where we ate food and looked at everyone's banners, and then each student had to teach the class about their specific region.
I believe this project is a great example of effective communication because I had to do lots of research about Pacific and Oceanic art and then I had to take that research it and present it visually and orally in a way that the class would understand and remember.

Rhetorical Analysis Essay-
For this essay, we were supposed to choose a professionally written essay or article to read. Once we did that and understood the meaning of the essay, we were supposed to analyze how the author used rhetoric tools in the paper to sway the reader one way or the other. After analyzing the paper, we then had to write an unbiased essay only discussing the way the author used Pathos, Ethos, and Logos in the paper.
I think this is a good example of critical thinking because it demonstrates my ability to read and understand another persons work. Then it shows that I am also able to analyze writing and form my own opinions about what the writer is communicating to the reader and whether or not it is completely correct.

Getting a Job-
I used what I learned in my internship class about careers, applying for jobs, and working with others to get the job that I have now at Rumbi Island Grill. In my internship class we learned how to write appropriately formatted resumes. I used the exact resume that I wrote in internship to get my job. In internship, we also learned a lot about dealing with people who's personality types are very different from our own, this has helped me understand my coworkers better.
